next assignment

Next week we will start on a new assignment which will be based on the subject you want to study at university. Here are the instructions

1. Think of a topic which divides people's opinions, in your field. E.g. in my subject, History, a topic that divides a lot of people is should the US have dropped atomic bombs on Japan in WW2. There are strong arguments on both sides.

2. Research opinions on both sides. Try and read and make notes on at least 2 articles for each side of the debate.

3. Write the essay, which should include the following

Introduction - why you chose the topic,
The arguments on one side of the debate - from the research, with citations
The arguments from the other side of the debate with citations.
Your opinion on the topic
conclusion
bibliography.
